Business Communication Class on 29 Oct

my previous business communication class, we discussed about anything else (such as: an article called Passport, the purposes of report, how to make a report, 4DL, begins to interview, how to develop our business/work) and now I'm going to share the topic that I got from the previous class. First, I will  describe about the purposes of report and why we need to write the report? *Report is a very formal document and the purposes of writing the report are to influence decisions, to convey essential information, to be used in determining changes and improvement. Besides the purpose, there is the expectations of the project trough writing the report. *The expectations of the project is against the progress and result and report closes with suggestion or recommendation. There are some handicaps, why difficult to write a report?. *Why difficult to write a report because there are some steps that should we go trough, there are defining information by collecting information then after getting those information, the next step is summarizing information in order to be easier when organizing information and the last is making recommendation. Actually, it can be easier by 4DL and it can be related to everything that we will do. 4DL means Define - Design - Develop - Deliver / Learning. Trough those process from defining until delivering, it can be called that we are learning something. In making a report, to get some information from someone else we can do an interview and the important thing that should we know to interview someone is first we have to set up demography (means we have to know 'who is the person' whom we want to interview, don't make a mistake from choosing the wrong one because it'll make you difficult to have the information), second we have to set up question guidelines (means we get the answer which is answering two questions at once while interviewing and we need question guidelines). The last that I want to describe is how to develop our business/work in all fields. There are some steps that we should know first, such as: cash flow, profit, growth, fellowcity, customer. If you want to have a business, make sure that you have the 'cash flow' first (it needs minimum two years to look or keep the stability of your cash flow), after two years and your cash flow is stable you can calculate your 'profit' (it takes again minimum two years to keep your profit stability, make sure again with your 'cash flow' to not decrease because cash flow is the core of everything), of course we want to develop our business and make it 'growth' (to develop our business or make it growth, again we have to keep the stability of our cash flow and profit because the process of developing our business we should have the cash flow and our profit are increasing in order to not become the problem or losers anytime), After several time our business growth increases the next problem is the fellowcity or in the other hand our speed of finishing the work (more busy you are, it can be slower your work. In this step 'fellowcity' can be answer the next step that is 'customer' because it depends on your speed in finishing work which means if you are too slowly of finishing work your customer can be lost and from that it can be identified between your key customers and only customer), the last is your 'customer' (after trough several steps before especially the 'fellowcity', your customers can be showed their loyality. It means that you can know and identify your key customer and after know it you just have to keep them because they are your next core in your business).

New Business Opportunity

"Maicih" the symbol of spicy chips which is famous nowadays among the market, especially for them who love to eat any kind spicy food. Actually, I want to discuss about this topic because while I was typing my blog about 'Tony Crishtiansen' I ate that maicih, so I want to add this topic in next blog.
I think maicih is including the new business opportunity today because I often meet my friends who sell this and they can be called as 'Jenderal' means distributor. Maicih established in the middle of 2010 at Bandung by Reza Nurhilman, at that time he had an idea to have a food business and chose maicih as the object. From beginning, he tried to sell it door to door or mouth to mouth and after 2 months he found the unique way to sell maicih which was trough twitter (2infomaicih) and it helped him a lot because many responses that he got. As long as it more success in the market, there is a system called 'Jenderal' for those who want sell maicih and they also warn the buyer to not buy maicih trough the 'Fake Jenderal'. I think, there are many 'Fake Jenderal' who sell maicih of course with the higher price than usual because they are illegal maicih seller (including my friends). Although the price is higher than usual, there still many buyers who buy maicih with 'Fake Jenderal' and because of that I think maicih is one of new business opportunity. Nowadays, especially among youth 'maici' is famous and they want to try the taste, but unfortunately maicih has not been spread widely yet and quite difficult to order, so because of that the 'Fake Jenderal' see the business opportunity and brave to sell maicih with higher price than usual.

VIP Seat Seminar as a Subtitute of My Interpreting Class

Yesterday I didn't come to my interpreting class because I have to join the final sprint 2001 prudential at Jitec, but I got some lesson of interpreting and experiences at that time. First of all, I would like to tell the meaning of interpreting itself. Interpreting means as same as translating but the different is as an interpreter (she/he) tells the meaning directly into another language, for example: there are 2 persons (Indonesian and American) who want to communicate each other but they don't understand because of the differences language, in that situation I can understand and communicate with those languages so I can help them by interpreting the meaning to another. It was fun in last seminar because not only got the motivation but I also could learn about interpreting through the motivator and the interpreter. The motivator's name is Tony Crishtiansen.

Tony Crishtiansen

Tony Crishtiansen is an inspirational and motivational speaker from New Zealand and I'm so blessed that can meet him in the second time. For me, He is an extraordinary person because he had lost his legs in train accident at 9 years old, although that terrible accident happened he has never allowed it to slow him down in any way. In fact, he has achieved more than he thought, such as: Successful businessman, Best selling author, A qualified lifeguard, Olympic gold medalist in shot put, Second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, Race car champion-World's fastest amputee, Qualified pilot-creating New Zealand aviation history, Qualified scuba driver, in December 2002-against all odds-He climbed Mt.Kilimanjaro (Afirca's highest mountain).
            I'm so speechless after knowing about his history and feel so grateful because I have anything (the complete body without any defect), but I also feel shy after considered that I'm not struggle enough to achieve my dreams like him. So many things that I get from him that we shouldn't never give up in every conditions to achieve our goals and we should remember that we are more perfect than him, so it is not your problem to achieve your goal and I'm glad to have many experiences trough Prudential. That's all the lesson that I got from the inspirational speaker.
            In that seminar, I learned how to be a good interpreter trough the first interpreter (Volunteer from Agency). As I observed the interpreter's skills, actually he is not really experienced enough because as long as the seminar he changed the meaning that motivator meant and it could be the big mistaken from the audiences who cannot understand English well. Although the interpreter made some mistakes, I tried to tell the right meaning directly to my partners. So during that seminar I could learn to interpret (to make sharper my skill), also I got the motivation from the motivator. Finally, I feel that I have to get some lesson to be learned everyday because at that time I was absent from interpreting class so I don't want waste my time.

Effective Communication - Saturday Class of Business Communication

 2 days ago in my second class of business communication, my lecture asked two questions about effective communication such as:
1. What do we mean by "effective communication"?
2. How does the knowledge of the communication process help us in communicating effectively?
today I will answer those questions. First, what we mean by "effective communication" based on (English for Managers Business Correspondence  is the word "Communicate" comes from the Latin verb "Communicare" that means to impart, to participate, to share or to make a common. By virtue of its Latin origin it is also the source of the English word common. Effective communication defined as the process of conveying or transmitting a message from one person to another trough a proper channel.

Second, I will answer how knowledge of the communication process helps us in communicating effectively. First of all, as a sender we have to know the message or content that will send to the receiver and in the process we have to select the appropriate channel & medium in order to the receiver gets and understand the message. As the process if the feedback from receiver is different or there is gap, it means that there is a mistaken (could be the option of the channel & medium or the message is not really clear). That's all my opinion about effective communication.

Business Communication-Second Class

"What's thing that describe you?", today in my second class of business communication, I will share the thing that describes me. The thing that describes me, I think is "honey" beside the taste is sweet, to make honey needs a long process until it can be sell. Longer time it takes, more expensive its price means that if I want to move the next level I have to challenge myself because the most experiences that I get the higher level that I take. Beside that, Honey also can combine with another elements (ex: orange, mint, etc) in one ingredients that means I'm a girl who is easy to adapt myself  with other people or any kind of situations. So, I'm glad to be Honey.

I Love Monday

People usually says that Monday is the Worst day but for me Monday is the wonderful day. In my case, everyday is wonderful day because I usually gets something new to learn and I should be grateful for it. Actually, I'm not in a good condition for 4days until now , but it doesn't make me become lazier because it may not be a good reason. In fact, I've already done my homework with this unwell condition and I still be grateful because today I don't have a class (I just feel that God gives me one day to take a rest). Although you have a free day, you should remember that you still have responsibility and today is including the most wonderful day in this week. .   

Bussiness Communication- ice breaking

This is my second class of business communication and I've already got the account blogger. The things that I got in Business communication class are business communication as same as written communication, and in this information era we need the writing skill because any kinds of communication are purposely to business. So, that's why it can be one of my reason to make this blog and I'm happy to have my own blog. Thanks to my lecturer  Mr.Ichwan.
